Ingredients:

For the patties:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken

  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 garlic clove (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

For serving:

  • 4 burger buns

  • Lettuce leaves

  • Tomato slices

  • Pickles

  • Sliced red onion

  • Mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite sauce

Instructions:

  1. Make the Patty Mixture
    In a bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until just combined — don’t overwork.

  2. Form Patties
    Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each into a patty slightly larger than the bun (they shrink a little when cooked).

  3. Cook the Patties
    Heat a grill pan or nonstick skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil it. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F / 74°C).

  4. Toast the Buns
    Optionally toast burger buns in the same pan or on the grill until golden.

  5. Assemble the Burgers
    Spread sauce on the buns, layer lettuce, patty, tomato, onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. Serve Hot
    Pair with fries, sweet potato wedges, or a fresh salad.

Tips:

  • For extra juicy burgers, add a tablespoon of Greek yogurt to the mix.

  • Prefer spicy? Add a dash of chili flakes or a spoonful of hot sauce to the patty mix.

  • Make it halal by ensuring the chicken and other ingredients are certified halal.
