Ingredients (Serves 4–5)
-
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
-
½ to ¾ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
-
4 cups cold water
-
Ice cubes
-
Lemon slices and fresh mint, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Juice the Lemons:
Roll the lemons on the counter to release more juice, then cut and squeeze them to get 1 cup of juice. Strain to remove seeds. -
Make the Base:
In a large pitcher, stir together the lemon juice and sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. -
Add Water and Ice:
Add the cold water and stir well. Taste and adjust sugar or water to your liking. Add ice cubes. -
Serve:
Pour into glasses, garnish with lemon slices and mint if desired, and serve immediately.
Tips
-
Use simple syrup (1:1 sugar and water, heated then cooled) for faster blending
-
Add a few crushed berries or cucumber slices for a flavored twist
-
Use sparkling water instead of still for a fizzy lemonade version
