Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)

  • 2–3 slices of cheddar cheese (or a mix: mozzarella, Swiss, Gouda)

  • 1–2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)

Instructions:

  1. Butter the Bread
    Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.

  2. Assemble the Sandwich
    Place one slice, butter-side-down, into a nonstick skillet. Add cheese on top. Place the second slice of bread over the cheese, butter-side-up.

  3. Grill Until Golden
    Heat skillet over medium-low heat. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is fully melted.

  4. Serve Immediately
    Slice in half and enjoy while hot and gooey!

Tips:

  • Cover the pan with a lid while cooking to help melt the cheese faster.

  • Use mayonnaise instead of butter on the outside for extra crispiness.

  • Add extras like tomato slices, cooked bacon, or caramelized onions for variation.
