Strawberry Iced Tea
This vibrant iced tea combines the rich flavor of black tea with sweet strawberries and a touch of lemon. It’s easy to make, caffeine-optional, and bursting with natural summer flavor.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
-
4 cups water
-
2 black tea bags (or green/herbal if preferred)
-
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
-
¼–⅓ cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
Ice cubes
-
Fresh mint and strawberry slices, for garnish
Instructions:
-
Brew the Tea:
Bring the water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep tea bags for 5–7 minutes. Discard tea bags and let the tea cool slightly. -
Make the Strawberry Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and ¼ cup water. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until the berries are soft and syrupy. -
Strain and Mix:
Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine sieve to remove pulp and seeds. Combine the syrup with the brewed tea and add lemon juice. Chill for at least 1 hour. -
Serve:
Fill glasses with ice and pour over the chilled strawberry tea. Garnish with fresh mint and strawberry slices.
Tips:
-
Adjust sweetness depending on your preference or the ripeness of your strawberries.
-
Use decaffeinated or herbal tea for a caffeine-free version.
-
Add a splash of sparkling water before serving for a fizzy twist.
