Watermelon Sorbet

 Watermelon Sorbet

Made with just a few simple ingredients, Watermelon Sorbet is the ultimate summer dessert. It’s naturally sweet, dairy-free, and incredibly hydrating — the perfect way to cool off with a taste of real fruit.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed

  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Blend the Ingredients
In a blender or food processor, combine watermelon cubes, sugar, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until completely smooth.

  2. Taste and Adjust
Taste the purée and adjust sweetness or lime juice as needed, depending on how ripe your watermelon is.

  3. Strain (Optional)
For an extra smooth texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp.

  4. Chill the Mixture
Refrigerate the purée for at least 1–2 hours, until very cold.

  5. Churn the Sorbet
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a slushy, sorbet consistency.

  6. Freeze Until Firm
Transfer the churned sorbet to a container and freeze for 2–3 hours until scoopable.

No-Churn Option:

Pour the purée into a shallow pan and freeze. Stir with a fork every 30 minutes for 2–3 hours to create a fluffy texture similar to granita.

Tips:

  • Use very ripe, sweet watermelon for the best flavor.

  • Add a few mint leaves during blending for a fresh twist.

Serving Suggestions:

Scoop into chilled bowls or serve in hollowed-out lime halves for a fun presentation. Pairs well with fresh mint or a sprinkle of sea salt.
