Fresh Apple Juice

 Fresh Apple Juice

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 2–3 glasses

Ingredients:

  • 4 large fresh apples (sweet varieties like Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp are ideal)

  • ½ cup water (optional, for a thinner juice)

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Fresh mint or lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Select the Apples: Choose firm, ripe apples that are free of bruises or blemishes. Sweet varieties provide natural sweetness, reducing the need for added sugar.

  2. Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the apples under cold running water to remove dirt, pesticides, or wax. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  3. Core and Slice: Remove the cores and seeds, then cut the apples into smaller pieces to make juicing easier. You may leave the peel on for extra fiber and nutrients.

  4. Juicing: Use a blender, juicer, or food processor to extract the juice. If using a blender, add a little water to help blend the apples into a smooth liquid.

  5. Sweeten if Desired: Taste the juice and add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar if needed. Stir well to dissolve completely.

  6. Strain (Optional): For a smooth, pulp-free juice, pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug.

  7. Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing drink.

  8. Garnish for Presentation: Add a mint sprig or thin lemon slice to each glass to enhance aroma and visual appeal.

Tips and Notes:

  • Best Consumption: Fresh apple juice is best consumed immediately to retain its natural flavor, vitamins, and antioxidants.

  • Variations: Combine apple juice with other fruit juices such as carrot, orange, or pear for a delicious and nutrient-rich blend.

  • Health Benefits: Apple juice is rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, supporting digestion and boosting overall health.

  • Storage: If necessary, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but flavor and nutrients decrease over time.
