 Fresh Carrot & Orange Juice

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Servings: 2–3 glasses

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped

  • 2 large oranges, peeled and segmented

  • ½ cup cold water (optional, for blending)

  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional, to taste)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Orange slices or mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Select Fresh Produce: Choose firm, bright orange carrots and ripe, juicy oranges for the best flavor and nutrition.

  2. Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the carrots and oranges under cold running water to remove any dirt or residues.

  3. Prepare the Ingredients: Peel the carrots and cut them into smaller pieces. Peel the oranges and remove any seeds.

  4. Blend the Mixture: Place the carrot pieces and orange segments into a blender. Add cold water if needed for easier blending. Blend until smooth and fully combined.

  5. Strain the Juice (Optional): For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug. This step is optional if you prefer a thicker juice.

  6. Sweeten if Desired: Taste the juice and add honey or sugar if additional sweetness is preferred. Stir until dissolved.

  7. Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and naturally sweet drink.

  8. Garnish for Presentation: Add an orange slice or a fresh mint leaf to each glass for a colorful and appetizing finish.

Tips and Notes:

  • Best Consumption: Fresh carrot and orange juice is best enjoyed immediately after preparation to retain its nutrients and vibrant flavor.

  • Variations: Add a small piece of ginger for a zesty touch or blend with a little apple juice for extra sweetness.

  • Health Benefits: This juice is rich in vitamin A from carrots and vitamin C from oranges, promoting healthy vision, immunity, and skin health.

  • Storage: Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake gently before serving, as natural separation may occur.
