Fresh Mango Juice

Fresh Mango Juice

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 2–3 glasses

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 ripe mangoes (preferably Alphonso, Ataulfo, or Kent for sweetness and flavor)

  • ½ cup cold water or milk (optional, for a smoother consistency)

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Fresh mint or mango slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Select the Mangoes: Choose ripe, fragrant mangoes that yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overripe mangoes may be too soft, while underripe ones can be sour.

  2. Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the mangoes under cold running water to remove dirt or residues, then pat dry with a clean towel.

  3. Peel and Cut: Peel the mangoes and cut the flesh away from the seed. Chop the mango flesh into smaller pieces for easier blending.

  4. Blend the Mangoes: Place the mango pieces into a blender. Add cold water or milk if desired to achieve a smooth consistency. Blend until completely smooth.

  5. Sweeten if Needed: Taste the juice. Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar if extra sweetness is desired, and blend briefly to mix.

  6. Strain (Optional): For a silky, pulp-free juice, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug.

  7. Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and tropical drink.

  8. Garnish for Presentation: Add a small mango slice or a fresh mint leaf to each glass for an appealing presentation.

Tips and Notes:

  • Best Consumption: Fresh mango juice is richest in flavor and nutrients when consumed immediately after preparation.

  • Variations: Combine mango juice with other fruit juices like orange, pineapple, or carrot to create a tropical blend.

  • Health Benefits: Mango juice is a natural source of vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, supporting immunity and overall health.

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but the taste and nutritional value are best when fresh.
