Fresh Mango Juice
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 2–3 glasses
Ingredients:
-
2–3 ripe mangoes (preferably Alphonso, Ataulfo, or Kent for sweetness and flavor)
-
½ cup cold water or milk (optional, for a smoother consistency)
-
1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)
-
Ice cubes (optional)
-
Fresh mint or mango slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Select the Mangoes: Choose ripe, fragrant mangoes that yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overripe mangoes may be too soft, while underripe ones can be sour.
-
Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the mangoes under cold running water to remove dirt or residues, then pat dry with a clean towel.
-
Peel and Cut: Peel the mangoes and cut the flesh away from the seed. Chop the mango flesh into smaller pieces for easier blending.
-
Blend the Mangoes: Place the mango pieces into a blender. Add cold water or milk if desired to achieve a smooth consistency. Blend until completely smooth.
-
Sweeten if Needed: Taste the juice. Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar if extra sweetness is desired, and blend briefly to mix.
-
Strain (Optional): For a silky, pulp-free juice, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug.
-
Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and tropical drink.
-
Garnish for Presentation: Add a small mango slice or a fresh mint leaf to each glass for an appealing presentation.
Tips and Notes:
-
Best Consumption: Fresh mango juice is richest in flavor and nutrients when consumed immediately after preparation.

-
Health Benefits: Mango juice is a natural source of vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber, supporting immunity and overall health.
-
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but the taste and nutritional value are best when fresh.
