Fresh Pomegranate Juice
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2–3 glasses
Ingredients:
-
2 large fresh pomegranates
-
½ cup cold water (optional, for a smoother consistency)
-
1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)
-
Ice cubes (optional)
-
Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Select the Pomegranates: Choose ripe pomegranates that feel heavy for their size and have smooth, unblemished skin. Ripe pomegranates are rich in juice and flavor.
-
Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the pomegranates under cold running water to remove dirt or residues. Pat dry with a clean towel.
-
Prepare the Seeds: Cut the pomegranates in half. Gently remove the seeds (arils) by tapping the back of the pomegranate with a spoon over a bowl or submerging halves in water and loosening the seeds.
-
Juicing: Place the seeds in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Add a little cold water if necessary to help blend.
-
Strain the Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove pulp and any remaining membrane, collecting the smooth juice in a jug.
-
Sweeten if Desired: Taste the juice. Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar if additional sweetness is desired, stirring until fully dissolved.
-
Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and vibrant drink.
-
Garnish for Presentation: Add a fresh mint leaf to each glass for a visually appealing and aromatic touch.
