Fresh Watermelon Juice
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 2–3 glasses
Ingredients:
-
4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seedless
-
½ cup cold water or coconut water (optional, for a smoother consistency)
-
1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)
-
Ice cubes (optional)
-
Fresh mint leaves or small watermelon wedges for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Select the Watermelon: Choose a ripe watermelon that is firm, heavy for its size, and has a deep green rind with a uniform shape. A ripe watermelon will be sweet and juicy.
-
Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the exterior under cold running water to remove any dirt or residues. Pat dry with a clean towel.
-
Prepare the Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds if not already seedless.
-
Blend the Watermelon: Place the watermelon cubes into a blender. Add cold water or coconut water if desired for a smoother, more fluid consistency. Blend until smooth.
-
Sweeten if Needed: Taste the juice. If additional sweetness is preferred, add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar and blend briefly to mix evenly.
-
Strain (Optional): For a silky, pulp-free juice, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug.
-
Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and hydrating drink.
-
Garnish for Presentation: Add a fresh mint leaf or a small watermelon wedge to each glass for visual appeal and aroma.
