Fresh Watermelon Juice

Fresh Watermelon Juice

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 2–3 glasses

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seedless

  • ½ cup cold water or coconut water (optional, for a smoother consistency)

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on taste)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Fresh mint leaves or small watermelon wedges for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Select the Watermelon: Choose a ripe watermelon that is firm, heavy for its size, and has a deep green rind with a uniform shape. A ripe watermelon will be sweet and juicy.

  2. Wash Thoroughly: Rinse the exterior under cold running water to remove any dirt or residues. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  3. Prepare the Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds if not already seedless.

  4. Blend the Watermelon: Place the watermelon cubes into a blender. Add cold water or coconut water if desired for a smoother, more fluid consistency. Blend until smooth.

  5. Sweeten if Needed: Taste the juice. If additional sweetness is preferred, add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or sugar and blend briefly to mix evenly.

  6. Strain (Optional): For a silky, pulp-free juice, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jug.

  7. Serve Cold: Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing and hydrating drink.

  8. Garnish for Presentation: Add a fresh mint leaf or a small watermelon wedge to each glass for visual appeal and aroma.

Tips and Notes:

  • Variations: Combine watermelon juice with other fruit juices such as lime, orange, or strawberry for a fruity blend.

  • Health Benefits: Watermelon juice is hydrating, rich in antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and supports overall health and wellness.

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Stir gently before serving, as natural separation may occur.
