BBQ Chicken

Ingredients:
For the chicken:

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs or drumsticks (or boneless if preferred)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika
For the BBQ sauce (or use store-bought):

½ cup ketchup
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon mustard
-
½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:

Marinate (Optional)
Rub the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes. -
Prepare the BBQ Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine all BBQ sauce ingredients. Simmer over low heat for 5–7 minutes until thickened. Set aside. -
Grill Method:

Preheat grill to medium heat.

Grill chicken for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally.

Brush generously with BBQ sauce and grill another 10–15 minutes until fully cooked and caramelized (internal temp: 165°F / 74°C).
OR Oven Method:

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Bake chicken on a lined baking tray for 25 minutes.

Brush with BBQ sauce and bake another 10–15 minutes until nicely glazed and slightly charred.

Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives.
