Tiramisu
This non-alcoholic Tiramisu offers layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, velvety mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa powder — all without any alcohol. It's elegant, rich, and easy to make at home for any occasion.
Ingredients:
-
For the cream layer:
-
1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
-
8 oz (225 g) mascarpone cheese, softened
-
1/3 cup (70 g) granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
-
For dipping:
-
1 1/2 cups (360 ml) brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
-
2 tablespoons sugar (optional, for sweeter coffee)
-
-
Other:
-
24–30 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
-
Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
-
Dark chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
-
Instructions:
-
Make the Cream Layer
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
In a separate bowl, gently mix mascarpone until smooth. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone until fully combined and fluffy. Chill until ready to use. -
Prepare the Coffee Dip
Mix the cooled coffee with sugar if desired. Pour into a shallow dish for dipping. -
Assemble the Tiramisu
-
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (1–2 seconds per side — don’t soak).
-
Layer them in a single layer at the bottom of a rectangular dish.
-
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and smooth the top.
-
Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
-
-
Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld. -
Dust and Serve
Before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder. Add chocolate shavings for extra indulgence, if desired.
Tips:
-
Use decaf coffee for a kid-friendly version.
-
For a firmer texture, freeze for 30 minutes before slicing.
-
Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom for a warm twist.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve chilled, in squares or spooned into cups. Garnish with cocoa powder, berries, or mint.
